Isber è un archeologo siriano specializzato nella gestione del patrimonio culturale, nonché una guida turistica nazionale certificata in Siria. È stato membro del team siriano-spagnolo del Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche Spagnolo (CSIC) dal 2005. Dal 2011, Isber è un ricercatore presso l’Istituto Milá y Fontanals del Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche Spagnolo ed è stato coinvolto in progetti e studi sulla protezione del patrimonio culturale durante i conflitti.
Attualmente è presidente e co-fondatore dell’ONG internazionale Heritage for Peace. Dal 2015 è coinvolto in iniziative culturali per rifugiati e immigrati in Europa. Sta guidando l’iniziativa Abuab, un progetto sociale che utilizza il patrimonio culturale come strumento per il dialogo interculturale con rifugiati e immigrati provenienti dal Medio Oriente e dal Nord Africa.
