HERITAGE CRIMES: CULTURAL HERITAGE, RISKS AND CONFLICTS - RO.ME Museum Exhibition

HERITAGE CRIMES: CULTURAL HERITAGE, RISKS AND CONFLICTS

In collaboration with Santagata Foundation for the Economics of Culture and The journal of Cultural Heritage Crime

The importance and role of culture in crisis scenarios due to war or natural disasters has grown significantly in recent years due to the emergence of new forms of conflict and the intensification of environmental disasters in many areas of the world. This growth of interest around the issue has produced numerous international campaigns aimed at responding globally, to the needs for the protection of cultural heritage, the safeguarding of cultural communities and expressions, and the control of illicit activities and trafficking.

Protecting cultural heritage from emergencies requires specific skills, tools and modes of operation. All aspects become more strategic than ever given the emerging scenarios and challenges posed by the current changes taking place in the world.

La Santagata Foundation for the Economy of Culture (a research, training and consulting organization in the field of the economy of culture, based in Turin), renewing its partnership with Ro.Me Museum Exhibition, is organizing the panel “HERITAGE CRIMES: CULTURAL HERITAGE, RISKS and CONFLICTS.”, to deepen the topics developed and covered in the International Master’s Degree in Cultural Property Protection in Crisis Response.
